Located in Baltimore, Maryland, Goucher is a private, coed, liberal arts college dedicated to teaching students to be complex problem solvers who are prepared for the jobs of the future. A Goucher education focuses on creating lifelong learners through an interdisciplinary, international education that requires 100% of students to study abroad.

Goucher College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in finance with a specialty in entrepreneurship beginning in August 2021.

Our business major offers students the opportunity to pursue a concentration in international business or arts management supported by an internship experience. The Business Management program has one of the highest enrollments at Goucher. Students may also pursue our new 4+1 program which combines a bachelor's degree from Goucher with a master of science degree from Johns Hopkins in business analytics and risk management, information systems, health care management, finance, or marketing.

We are specifically seeking faculty interested in developing courses and experiences with an international focus that can complement the College's signature study abroad program. Faculty have autonomy over their classes and have access to pedagogical training. Teaching responsibilities will include financial management, global investments, and the development of entrepreneurship courses. The teaching load is 20 credit hours.

In addition to a strong commitment to teaching, we seek candidates with a dedication to student mentoring, ongoing scholarly research, and service to the department and college. Goucher also values a strong commitment to teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds and experience working in a multicultural environment. The successful candidate must have the ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body.

Qualified candidates will have an earned doctoral degree in Finance or a related discipline from an accredited business school. Candidates with an MBA with work experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have industry and teaching experience, a demonstrated track record of success in leading and/or developing entrepreneurship-related programs, a record of engagement in the startup community, and/or program development experience.

The review of applications will begin on December 14, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.
