Director of Talent Management

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) seeks an experienced leader and strategic partner to serve as its next Director of Talent Management. Serving as a member of the leadership team, the Director of Talent Management will join GTRI at a time of growth, change, and increasing enthusiasm around its research development and technological advancement. The role of GTRI’s Director of Talent Management is to provide direction in the overall strategy, operational planning, budgeting, and leadership for GTRI’s Talent Management Department (TMD.) This position is responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on an appropriate organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. The Director of TMD will work collaboratively within GTRI and in partnership with Georgia Tech to review and integrate all policies, serve as a trusted resource, and be a proactive partner on all matters related to talent management of GTRI’s unique workforce. Success in this role requires an effective communicator and strategic thought partner with demonstrated experience within a similarly complex environment.

Founded in 1934, Georgia Tech Research Institute is the applied research arm of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) which is nonprofit. GTRI develops advanced technology solutions and large-scale system prototypes to address the most difficult problems in national security, economic development, and the overall human condition. GTRI has rapidly grown to more than 2,600 employees supporting eight laboratories in over 20 locations around the country and performs more than $642 million in executed sponsored awards for problem-solving research annually for government and industry.

The successful candidate should ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or public administration or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred.
