Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services, the Associate Director of Compliance (Associate Director III) is the primary regulatory manager for all federal, state and institutional financial aid programs and is responsible for ensuring that all aid programs are in compliance with established regulations, policies and procedures.  The Associate Director of Compliance assists in the administration of the Office and manages work operations of the technical and scanning units, which includes staff supervision; provides direct operational support to the Director; develops goals, policies and procedures; provides guidance and training to all Office staff members; and does related work as required. The Associate Director will act with the authority of the Director in their absence to ensure that office operations are maintained without disruption. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

 

The Associate Director is a key member of the enrollment services team who works in collaboration with other managers within the division to provide essential student support services and excellent customer service to prospective and current Kean University students, families and alumni.

 

This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus three days per week or as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence. The employee must have the ability to wear a face covering for the duration of the workday during the COVID pandemic or as determined by university protocol.  

 

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in a financial aid office in an agency or institution of higher education is required. One year of the required experience must be at a supervisory/administrative level. Candidate must have working knowledge of regulations governing federal, state and institutional financial aid policies. A Master’s degree in a related field and working knowledge of integrated student information systems, including Datatel’s Colleague system, is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is also preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
