Director, Budget Planning and Finance

The Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University invites applications for a Director of Budget Planning and Finance. This position is responsible for directing the financial activities of the school and manages a $40 million budget, including significant non-tuition revenues (endowments and grants). The Director also oversees the annual budget submission; produces monthly, quarterly, and project-based reports for various Columbia units as well as external sponsors and conducts quarterly and year-end close procedures. In addition to budget planning and reporting, the Director is responsible for all accounting functions (payables, receivables, purchasing, and internal transfers); managing restricted and capital funds; and managing the overall budget tracking and reconciliation process through collaboration among Journalism departments.
