Position Summary
The UB Teacher Residency Education Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director, university faculty, partner districts, mentor teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders in preparing and supporting a diverse, learner-ready teaching force.
You will participate in various aspects of the program including:

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a degree in education and experience working in schools. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a Master’s degree and university-based teacher education program and experience working as a teacher in diverse and/or urban school settings are preferred.

The UB Teacher Residency Education Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director, university faculty, partner districts, mentor teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders in preparing and supporting a diverse, learner-ready teaching force.

- Recruitment and selection of residents.
- Recruitment and selection of mentor teachers.
- Providing support for navigating UB and BPS systems and NYS
certification workshops.
- Facilitation of professional learning communities (both virtual
and face-to-face) for residents and mentor teachers.
- Planning and coordination of the Teacher Residency Summer
Institute (a one-week intensive professional development experience
for all participating residents and mentor teachers).
- Coordination of UB Sub (a professional development workshop for prospective substitute teachers).
