It is a full-time, rolling contract position scheduled to begin the January term of 2020-2021 on January 4, 2021.

Occupational Therapy uses the skills needed to learn, work, plan, socialize, sleep, and care for oneself and other to help people participate in life to their fullest potential. St. Catherine University is one of the few schools in the nation to offer a full array of OT programs at the associate, master’s and doctoral level. TheLevel I Fieldwork and Capstone Coordinatorcollaborates with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to ensure that the program is compliance with fieldwork requirements ofACOTEStandards

Responsibilities:


  • Establish and renew capstone policies with faculty and oversee capstone processes
  • Maintain a system of on-going capstone evaluation to improve theOTDprogram, curriculum and student outcomes
  • Document required facets of the fieldwork and capstone experiences for consistency and compliance purposes.
  • EngageOTDfaculty and students in collaboration of capstone planning, decisions and activities
  • Ensure the Level I fieldwork program reflects the sequence and scope of content in the curricular design
  • Ensure the Level I fieldwork experiences in traditional, non-traditional, and emerging settings strengthen the ties with the didactic curriculum
  • Ensure that the student’s Level I fieldwork supervisor is adequately prepared to serve as a fieldwork educator prior to the FW experience and verify that each student is mentored by an individual with expertise
  • Teach in traditional classroom, online and hybrid environments.
  • Design, teach, evaluate, and revise course content to reflect evidence-based practice and most current knowledge in the field
  • Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with people of all cultures and abilities, affirming the worth and preserving the dignity of individuals, families, and communities.
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator, an advisor, and a mentor
  • Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance
  • Know the accreditation standards related to capstone and level I fieldwork and assure they are met
  • Gather, maintain, and provide records or evidence needed for accreditation reports
  • Engage in professional development activities that develop expertise and keep current on fieldwork and/or capstone research and best practices
  • Actively participates on departmental and university committees and programs

  • ABDwill be considered but degree must be complete shortly after work begins.

  • Teaching experience at the master’s or doctoral level
