The Biology Department of the College of Natural, Behavioral, and Health Sciences at Simmons University is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor position in the Biology Department to teach two online lecture sections and two online lab sections of Biol 225 - Cell Biology, to begin February 1, 2021 and end May 15, 2021. This is a replacement position for the Spring 2021 semester only.

Course Description:

Biol 225 presents a thorough study of the cell, including structure, function, cell diversity, and methods of analysis. Examines major biochemical pathways of the cell in relation to particular organelles and cell signaling. Requires completion of 1 semester of Organic Chemistry.

Responsibilities: The adjunct instructor will be responsible for the online course and lab platforms and will need to record asynchronous lectures and labs based on current course materials. In addition, the adjunct instructor will conduct two synchronous lecture sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:50AM and 11:00AM-12:20PM, and two synchronous lab sessions on Tuesdays from 3:00-5:50PM and 6:00-8:50PM.

Requirements: Master's or Ph.D. degree, experience teaching Biology and/or Cell Biology courses.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching online.
