Job Description:
The Department of Social Work and Gerontology at Weber State University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of assistant professor, opening fall 2021. This position is a nine-month, full-time, tenure track faculty appointment with primary assignment at the Davis Campus.


Job Duties:
This position involves student advisement and teaching responsibilities across the curriculum in both the undergraduate and MSW programs, with an emphasis on foundations of social work, diversity, human behavior in the social environment (HBSE), and practice theory and methods. Other responsibilities include committee assignments, professional activities, presentations, publications, and community service.


Required Qualifications:
- A PhD in Social Work or a related field
- An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
- Significant post-master’s teaching experience


Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of potential for teaching excellence in a variety of subject areas in social work curricula
- A commitment to excellence in scholarship, teaching, advising, and student development
- An interest in creative program development
- The ability to work in a collegial manner with social work faculty members and faculty from other disciplines across campus

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
