Summary:
The UVU Extended Education team, part of the Community Outreach and Economic Development Division, is seeking a talented and innovative leader for Articulated Programs and Workforce Development. This role is key to UVU in developing important cross-campus and external relationships with other institutions, K-12 partners, and industry, to build clear academic pathways and short-term training in high-demand areas to drive economic development in the region. The position will be based at our Lehi Campus.

Overall Goal of Position: Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Extended Education, this position provides leadership and support to design effective and relevant articulation processes and agreements between UVU and regional education and industry partners. The position also supports academic programs to design, implement and market academic pathways and short-term credentials which lead to employment in high-demand fields The position works closely with internal and external partners, including industry, to identify regional workforce needs and implement relevant programming.

Manages Articulation Process: Develops relationships and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to design, implement, market and monitor relevant articulation agreements. Maintains effective communication between stakeholders to ensure mutual agreement on content and deadlines are met. Stakeholders include Concurrent Enrollment, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Deans, Faculty, Perkins program staff regional technical colleges, regional higher education institutions, feeder school districts, advising staff, related industry partners and the Department of Workforce Services. Manages and follows the University articulations process and makes updates and revisions when needed. Organizes and manages monthly articulations committee meetings to ensure stakeholder input. Monitors articulation agreements annually to update curriculum and marketing materials when necessary. Proactively communicates to stakeholders regarding changes, requirements and updates to articulations.

Workforce Development: Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify short-term workforce development needs in areas that lead to high-demand jobs and identifies funding to support development of relevant programming. Develops partnerships with regional employers on both the Wasatch Front and Wasatch Back, to provide student pipelines to programs and high-quality, up-to-date curriculum. Collaborates closely with relevant UVU faculty and Executive Education to ensure alignment between non-credit and credit programs.

Grant Management: Supports the University by actively seeking and managing workforce development grants, including Utah Works, Short Term Intensive Training (STIT) and Strategic Workforce Initiative (SWI), to support program articulations and workforce development. Identifies relevant internal and external partners to collaborate in grants, including faculty, to develop viable pathways to in-demand workforce categories as identified by GOED and other government agencies. Collaborates with Perkins program staff to align their annual plan with academic program outcomes, ongoing grant applications, university priorities, and legislative requests.

Data Reporting: Proactively provides data reports and updates on articulations and grants to internal and external parties, including the budget office, Office of Sponsored Programs, and University leadership. Works with Institutional Research staff to streamline and improve data reporting.

Committee Service: Serves on institutional and regional workforce committees to support institutional and legislative goals.

Special Project Assignments: Assists department leadership and others with special projects, meetings, and additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience related to the summary of duties or a combination of education and work totaling 7 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 2-5 years related experience.


Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a normal office environment.

Frequently Travel; requires a current Driver’s Licenses.

Pay Range: $63,151 - $78,939
