Responsibilities:

Instructional and student advisement responsibilities in core undergraduate courses, BS program in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, MS program Manufacturing Systems Engineering. Initiating and maintaining a pattern of scholarly research is expected, as well as active and effective participation in department governance, accreditation, program review and curriculum development. Participation in professional and student organizations and development of industry relationships are normative expectations.

The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she is housed for recommending tenure and promotion.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Manufacturing Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited university, with teaching and research interests in the area of manufacturing systems and technologies including, but not limited to, advanced manufacturing processes, robotics and automation and advanced CAD/CAM.

 Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to effective undergraduate and graduate teaching, dedication to student advisement and supervision, and an ability to function productively in a multicultural and international faculty/student population.  Successful candidates are expected to develop and conduct a continuing research program. Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication is required. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the assessment and accreditation of the program as part of their responsibilities.

Applicants must provide evidence of outstanding commitment and demonstrated ability to teaching and research in an environment serving a diverse student population. Applicants with university teaching experience at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels and Industrial experience are desired.  Assessment and ABET accreditation experience will also be considered as a bonus.

At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States. 

All positions are contingent upon Provost’s approval and budget considerations.
