Assistant Professor of Costume Design
Department of Theatre & Performance Studies
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Costume Design faculty position in the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies (NAST accredited) that begins in August 2021.
Duties will include teaching courses in costume design and construction, stage makeup, theatrical production, period styles, and other topics in their area of expertise.
Teaching duties in other areas of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies may be assigned. Duties will also include design for the department season and mentoring students through the design process. All faculty are expected to display teaching excellence and a commitment to innovative educational practices to maintain an active research and/or creative activity profile, and to demonstrate exceptional management, communication, and leadership skills.
Candidates must possess a terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in the area of theatrical costume design, and a demonstrated record of excellent research/creativity activity. Applicants must possess a record of success teaching individuals from underrepresented groups in higher education and whose professional experiences have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
