Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Technician will provide support for specific duties necessary for the overall operation of the department. This part time position requires that you work mainly during the day and possibly some evening and weekend hours.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provides computer system and computer lab support;
  2. Troubleshoots and corrects basic hardware, software, and minor networking problems;
  3. Assists staff in the proctoring of online final exams;
  4. Provides basic Canvas support for students;
  5. Provides Help Desk support for online students;
  6. Provides A/V and technical support for eLearning patrons;
  7. Completes assigned projects as per established deadlines;
  8. Performs other duties assigned by Director to fulfill departmental goals.

Required:
  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Training and experience that is equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in the area of Computer Information Systems.
Preferred:
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have proficient computer skills in the use of MS Office, possess networking/server experience, including knowledge of webpage development tools.
  • Must communicate effectively with patrons, accept and follow instructions, and carry out tasks independently according to schedule.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Work-inside a well-lighted and air-conditioned area most of the time.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
