General Position Description

The Department of Science, in the School of Natural Science and Mathematics at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, invites outstanding teacher-scholars to apply for a new tenure-track appointment in the Biological Sciences starting in August 2021. The successful candidate should possess a PhD at the time of appointment, and postdoctoral research experience is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the campus community, and is expected to engage in peer-reviewed scholarship that encourages and supports the involvement of undergraduates. Applicants from all environmental science disciplines, especially those with a background in aquatic ecology and environmental chemistry are welcome. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the foundational, introductory biology courses as well as electives that serve the environmental science program in the applicant’s area of expertise.

Salary

This is a full-time position with full benefits and annual, holiday, and sick leave. Competitive salary commensurate to experience.
