Tenure Track Faculty Position: Assistant Professor or NTT in Forensic Science Department

The successful candidate will be expected to teach course work in both the undergraduate and graduate forensic science programs at UNH. Some of these courses will be consistent with the faculty member’s area of expertise, and other course will be general courses such as Introduction to Forensic Science. In addition, this candidate must be competent in advising and mentoring students at various levels and provide mentoring to undergraduate research students. Previous teaching experience in higher education is preferred. The successful candidate must be willing to teach some evening classes.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum requirement is a MSc in natural sciences or some closely related forensic science discipline. Areas of interest should include physical methods such as fingerprints, firearms, questioned documents and imprints/impressions. Significant practical experience and court room testimony is essential.

University of New Haven is home to one of the oldest and well-respected forensic science programs in the United States. Our graduates can be located in forensic science laboratories throughout the US and abroad. We have newly renovated lab space as well as the recent addition of a high-tech Henry Lee Institute of Forensic Science facility. Modern equipment, including various DNA analysis platforms, SEM, XRD, Raman Spectroscopy, GC/MS, LEEDS comparison microscopy, etc. are available for teaching and research.
