Job Description

The W. P. Carey School of Business, CAPS Research is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Research Analyst. This position will prepare data collected from surveys, apply common statistical measurements and analysis to the data, and create reports summarizing results of the findings.

This position is based at 309 W. Elliot Road, Suite 113, Tempe, AZ 85284, approximately six miles from the ASU Tempe campus. Due to COVID-19, staff (as of this posting date) are working remotely. When safe to do so, staff will return to the office location. Training for this position may occur remotely.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare and organize data gathered from surveys for use in analysis
  • Use common statistical and data analysis to prepare survey results for reporting
  • Create reports for CAPS business customers that summarize the collected data
  • Create charts, graphs, and other visualizations in reports as needed
  • Assist with data collection and verification; assist with survey creation and survey programming
  • Respond to business customers’ requests in a timely manner
  • Assist CAPS team members in creating PowerPoint slides for business presentations
  • Assist with process improvement, problem-solving, and support of special projects
  • May represent CAPS by participating in meetings and phone calls with business customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a related field AND three years of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR, Master's degree in a related field AND one year of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience planning and coordinating projects and establishing and managing multiple priorities
  • Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with large, global corporations and/or procurement/supply management professionals
  • Experience conducting survey-based data collection and research
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics as applied to data analysis and research
  • Evidence of a degree where research and/or statistics were used, including but not limited to Statistics, Math, Marketing, Economics, Psychology or other Social Sciences fields
  • Working Environment

    Due to COVID-19, this position (as of the posting date) will work remotely. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, the person in the position will be expected to work in-person at the CAPS Research office located approximately six miles from the ASU Tempe campus, at 309 W. Elliot Road, Suite 113, Tempe, AZ 85284

  • For the duration of remote work due to COVID-19 restrictions, required to have suitable computer, monitor, and related equipment, internet connectivity, and workspace
  • Work activity subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Upon return to in-person work at CAPS Research, activities:
    • Are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting
    • Require standing for varying lengths of time and walking moderate distances to perform work and participate in and assist at CAPS client meetings and in-town events
    • Include the use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer, fax/scan, copier, badge access, and security controls
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Communicate verbally, via telephone and/or video conference, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions
