Chapman University’s graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) seeks applications for a Part Time Lecturer to teach our PAS 504 Pharmacology course this spring, beginning January 4, 2021.

The PA program is located on the Rinker Health Science campus in Irvine, California. Qualifications

Requirements include a masters in clinical practice (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) or a PharmD.

Preferred requirements include:

• RPh, PharmD or PhD in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or similar pharmacy-related degree
• Prior didactic and/or experiential teaching experience
• Experience in course instruction
• Work experience in a pharmacy setting

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Develop syllabus and course schedule
• Teach PAS 504 Pharmacology course
• Deliver lecture content and/or coordinate with guest lecturers to deliver lecture content
• Development of assessment questions
• Utilization of Examsoft® for assessment administration
• Utilization of Canvas® learning management system to maintain student gradebook and course content

PAS 504 is a prerequisite for physician assistant studies majors. This course will provide PA students with an introduction and foundation in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics, drug actions, and interactions. This organ-based course will develop knowledge in pharmacy to understand disease management and therapy in multiple care settings. This course will utilize lectures and case-based scenarios to develop critical thinking.

Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2030. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
