About the Opportunity:
The Center for Inclusive Computing was launched in 2019 to promote the advancement of undergraduate women majoring in computing across the United States. While best practices for how to increase representation of women are well documented and widely known, stagnant percentages indicate that uptake of these practices has been slow. To significantly increase representation in computing, we engage in three key initiatives:

1. Grantmaking: We offer two types of grants to colleges and universities committed to improving the representation of women graduating with degrees in computing.
a. Best Practice Grants support the implementation of evidence-based approaches that have been shown to quickly and significantly increase the representation of women
b. Data Grants support the collection of key institutional and demographic data for schools seeking to develop a better understanding of where they are losing and gaining students.
2. Technical Assistance: We work with senior computing faculty from across the country who have firsthand experience implementing changes that have led to significant increases in the percentage of women. These Technical Advisors provide guidance on the planning and implementation of interventions and participate in data analysis.
3. Data Analysis: We collect and analyze detailed enrollment, completion, and persistence data for the first three introductory computer science courses in addition to retention and graduation.

Responsibilities:
In this newly created position, the Learning & Engagement Manager (“L&E Manager”) will be responsible for cultivating a community of practice and designing the mechanisms for information sharing among our stakeholders. These include Technical Advisors, partner schools, and the higher-ed broadening participation in computing community.

As we continue to grow our network of schools and Technical Advisors, the L&E Manager will serve as the point person for the Technical Advisors, ensuring they have resources and programmatic support needed to be successful. The L&E Manager will be responsible for coordinating information sharing and developing a knowledge base among this group of expert computing faculty as they work with and learn from our network of partner schools.

The L&E Manager will develop and launch strategy to stakeholder engagement that ensures our data analysis results and broader findings are clearly communicated. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, planning and implementing events and supporting the Executive Director to publish papers, give talks, and host workshops. The L&E Manager will also ensure our team has the most current research on broadening participation of women and underrepresented groups in undergraduate computing.

The L&E Manager reports to the Program Director of the Center and will work closely with the other Center team members, specifically on communications and data reporting.

Qualifications:
● Minimum of 5 years work
● Deep knowledge of issues facing underrepresented groups in computing in higher education
● Significant experience working in higher education, particularly working faculty
● Experience working in computing is preferred, although other STEM areas may by applicable
● Author on academic papers and conferences on diversity and inclusion in education and computing
