Assistant Professor, Applied Microeconomics
The Department of Economics of the Bryan School of Business & Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (http://economics.uncg.edu/) invites applications for up to three tenure stream positions to begin August 1, 2021. Positions are subject to budget availability and two are contingent on retirements. Women and persons of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
For this position, the Department seeks candidates at the Assistant Professor (tenure track) level whose research is in applied microeconomics. The Department currently has faculty researching and teaching in health, education, public, labor, and environmental economics. The candidate’s research should contribute synergies to the Department’s existing research strengths. Candidates who will complete the Ph.D. in economics, or a closely related field, by August 1, 2021, shall be considered.
The Department of Economics offers a B.A., a B.S., an M.A. in Applied Economics, two graduate certificates, and a Ph.D. focused on applied microeconomics. The Department contributes to both the undergraduate business core and the MBA core. Teaching is a mandatory part of the position and the selected candidate will likely teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department has specific graduate teaching needs in applied microeconomic theory.
