Hilbert College is launching a national search for its next Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. The provost is Hilbert’s chief academic officer and has administrative responsibility for all academic programs of the College; for the oversight and integration of all academic support offices; and for the recruitment, hiring, and professional development of the faculty. The Provost reports to the President, serves as a key member of the senior staff, and plays an integral role in the institution's decision-making processes. This individual works with the President and college leadership to advance the strategic vision of Hilbert College, rooted in its Catholic, Franciscan mission and values.  In the absence of the President, the Provost acts as the senior administrative officer of the College.

Hilbert serves an increasingly diverse student body, including traditional undergraduates, full and part-time graduate students, online students, and students enrolled in the college’s adult and evening programs. To that end, the Provost will play an integral role in the recruitment, retention, and success of underrepresented students who comprise nearly 40% of our First Year Students in 2020. Ultimately, by engaging with the newly completed Strategic Plan, Hilbert 2025, the Provost will provide visionary leadership during this exciting moment in Hilbert College’s history.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

The provost search committee will be accepting nominations and applications on a rolling basis through the earliest part of 2021. The candidate pool will be narrowed in mid-January, although applications will be accepted until a new provost is selected. For the most favorable consideration, application should be submitted by January 1, 2021.

Applications should be submitted to:
Jeffrey Papia
Chair, Provost Search Committee
provost@hilbert.edu

Materials should include a letter of candidacy, a CV or resume, and the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of three references, none of whom will be contacted until a later stage of the search and not without the formal permission of the candidate. All inquiries and applications will be received and evaluated in full confidence. Prior to making application, prospective candidates are encouraged to view the full Search Profile to learn more about the desired attributes for the next Provost/VPAA.
