Summary

The Office of Clinical Research (OCR) supports and promotes clinical research efforts and education at Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliate institutions. The Office of Clinical Research Manager, Research Administration supports Baylor's clinical research initiative through managing the full life cycle of clinical research contracts. The Manager is responsible for all contracts related to clinical research funded by industry sponsors. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that all terms and conditions of the contract are acceptable in accordance with Baylor standards, ensures the safety of our human subjects, and ensures that all provisions are to the best interest of Baylor and its Principal Investigators.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of the clinical trial process (not just the contract process). The person will have to be well organized and be able to multi-task. Great customer service is a must. Applicant will need excellent communication skills to interact with direct reports and customers.

Job Duties
  • Manages the contracts group by reviewing work queue, assigning contracts for review, answering questions or being the main point of contact for contract related questions.
  • Reviews workflows and makes recommendations to leadership.
  • Reports contracts metrics to leadership.
  • Verifies and updates Baylor policy related to clinical trial agreements by engaging with General Counsel and conveys these changes to the rest of the contracts group.
  • Trains and supervises contract group.
  • Works closely with other Baylor contracts groups (Sponsored Programs Office and Baylor Licensing Group).


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience. Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.


Preferred Qualifications
  • JD
  • Previous Research Administrative experience including clinical trial agreements
  • Previous supervisory experience
