Position Summary:

Produce original news content, with a strong focus on racial and social justice reporting, for a variety of media platforms in collaboration with PBS Wisconsin's team of digital and broadcast news journalists. Engage PBS Wisconsin audience through digital, broadcast and social media. This position reports to the Executive Producer of News.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in journalism or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Minimum 3 years required of broadcast and/or professional online video reporting and multimedia content creation experience, at least two of which must be in reporting on racial/social justice issues and underrepresented communities. (Experience gained in school, such as internships or school media production may be counted.)
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated excellent writing and proofreading skills. Knowledge of AP style.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively and successfully with people from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented communities.
- Strong knowledge of Wisconsin current events and issues.
- Proven ability to work in both independent and collaborative settings.

- Experience with reporting on-camera.
- Experience operating a video camera.
- Experience with desktop video editing.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications

Additional Information:

Expected salary range for this position is $47,000 - $62,000 for highly experienced candidates who exceed the qualifications. Actual pay and title will depend on experience and qualifications.

The occupant of this position is expected to comply with the Ethical Guidelines for PBS Wisconsin Editorial and Executive Staff found at pbswisconsin.org/about/, as well as the UW Madison Code of Ethics.

This position requires the ability to travel (with occasional overnights) for work, and must be available to work weekdays, some evenings and weekends as needed, in support of reporting assignments.

b. 2 examples of digital news reporting, preferably examples of multimedia work.
