The School of Education is excited to invite candidates who will serve as a Research Associate with the Metropolitan Education Research Consortium ( MERC ). This position will work with the research/evaluation team within VCUs School of Education to lead and engage in research activities for an equity review for a state agency until September 2021. Duties include data collection and management, data analysis, and reporting.
-Experience preparing and managing data for use with statistical programs (i.e, SPSS, Stata, R), including reviewing and cleaning incoming files, merging data sets, creating variables.
-Experience running advanced regression analysis using a statistical program (i.e., SPSS, Stata, R).
-Experience with a variety of data collection and analysis techniques using quantitative (i.e., surveys, secondary data) and qualitative data (i.e., interviews/focus groups, case studies, policy/document analysis).
-Demonstrated experience working in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU .
-Experience working on teams.
-Strong interpersonal skills.
-Strong writing and communication skills.
-Masters degree in education, research, statistics, or a related field.
-Doctoral degree in education, research, statistics, or a related field.
-Experience conducting research and/or evaluation projects across various sectors, including government agencies, non-profits, PK12 Schools, and institutions of higher education.
-Experience leading a research team.
-Knowledge of health and human resources systems.
