Position Summary:

The Mohr lab at the University at Wisconsin-Madison is looking for a highly motivated Research Specialist to help define outcomes of congenital Zika virus infection in a macaque model. Outcomes to be studied include antibody responses, visual function, hearing, and brain volumes, in a macaque model of congenital Zika virus infection.

This Research Specialist will direct macaque studies, from pregnancy through juvenile years. Procedures they will do include: process blood samples, perform placental dissections and schedule infant exams. This Research Specialist will organize data and develop figures for presentation. Degree and Area of Specialization:

B.A. or B.S or equivalent in a life sciences or similar field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Experience with molecular biology procedures, cell culture, and/or blood processing is requried. Two years lab technician experience is preferred. Previous work with an animal model is also preferred.

The individual will be expected to be highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented to generate and analyze data, and function efficiently, independently, and in a skilled team and cooperatively with the principal investigator. Prefix assignment will be determined by years of relevant work experience.

Effective oral and written communication skills in English, independent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and organization, and an outgoing and energetic service-oriented approach required.
