Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Duties will include teaching in the graduate and undergraduate psychology programs, conducting and supervising research, and committee service.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Candidates should have a doctoral degree from an APA -accredited Psychology program and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Experience Required for the Position
The department seeks applicants with interests and expertise in clinical psychology to contribute to its graduate and undergraduate programs. While the specific area of expertise for this position is open, preference will be given to candidates with research and practice interests related to diversity broadly conceived (e.g., ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion/spirituality, socioeconomic class and other diverse identities), which enables them to teach multicultural counseling, as well other clinically related courses, such as psychotherapy, practicum, and ethical/legal issues. Candidates must be committed to a student-centered approach and are expected to demonstrate a strong interest in mentoring Master’s thesis and supervising students’ clinical work.
