ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PAINTING AND DRAWING: The Department of Art invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The department seeks a painter with a proven exhibition record who makes work that engages meaningfully with contemporary painting practice while being conversant with historical conventions. We seek someone whose teaching builds and sustains student conceptual, expressive, and technical engagement, from foundation through upper-division courses, towards the development of original and significant artwork. Teaching duties will include foundation and upper-division/advanced courses in Painting & Drawing and Color, encouraging a diversity of practice, interpretation, and experimentation. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding. The anticipated academic year appointment will begin Fall 2021.
MFA or equivalent degree in Painting. Applicant must have a strong commitment to teaching with demonstrated competence and experience at the university level appropriate to the area of instruction.
Teaching experience beyond graduate assistantship is strongly preferred. Minimum of two years of full-time university-level teaching experience in studio art. Consideration will be enhanced by providing evidence of significant professional practice and recognition.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE
