Vice President for Academic Affairs

The President and community of Saint Elizabeth University (SEU), formerly the College of Saint Elizabeth, invite applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). They are seeking an inspirational VPAA who embraces the University's mission as a community of learning in the Catholic liberal arts tradition--focused on engaged learning for leadership in service to others, for students of diverse ages, backgrounds, and cultures. President Helen Streubert plans to retire at the end of the 2020-21 academic year, and a new President will be selected prior to the appointment of the new VPAA and select the VPAA in consultation with the search committee. It is hoped that the new VPAA will take office July 1, 2021.

SEU is ranked third among private schools in New Jersey on Money magazine's "Best Colleges in 2020" list. U.S. News & World Report lists SEU among "Best Ethnic Diversity" colleges and Washington Monthly ranked SEU second in New Jersey in "Best Bang for the Buck—Northeast Region." SEU's beautiful, peaceful 200-acre campus is only 30 minutes from New York City and its cultural opportunities.

Enrolling almost 1,300 students, SEU offers students a wide range of educational choices at both the undergraduate and graduate levels with majors and programs in business, education, the liberal arts and sciences, nursing and health professions, and other fields. More than 40 majors and minors are offered in the traditional undergraduate programs, and the continuing studies programs offer bachelor's degree completion in seven majors. Graduate programs include master's degrees in 16 areas of study and doctoral degrees in educational leadership (Pre-K to 12 track or higher education track) and counseling psychology. In addition to graduate and undergraduate degrees, the University offers six combined degree programs, thirteen dual degree or partnership programs, and eleven professional certifications. Currently, there are 57 full-time and 146 part-time members of the faculty. Among the full-time faculty, 37 percent are tenured.

The VPAA oversees all academic policies and programs that foster the intellectual life of the University and student success. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who combines a deep passion for liberal arts and professional education with the academic, financial, and strategic acumen to offer strong, collaborative, and transparent leadership within the community; and a scholar and teacher who possesses a doctoral or terminal degree and the academic credentials suitable for an appointment at the level of full professor. See a full list of qualifications and more information about the position by clicking on the Saint Elizabeth University Provost search at https://academicsearch.org/open-searches-public/. Additional information about the institution can be found at https://www.steu.edu/. Application requirements are also detailed in the profile. They include a letter of intent addressing how the candidate's experiences match the position qualifications in the profile; a current CV; and 3) contact information for at least five professional references (not to be contacted without the candidate's prior approval and not till later in the search). For full consideration by the search committee, send application materials and queries to SEUVPAA@academicsearch.org by January 22, 2021.
