state-funded, tenure-track assistant professor position in
bioinformatics. UNF is a Carnegie Community Engaged

recognized, vibrant, and well-funded, research program of
exceptional caliber. Teaching responsibilities may include
introductory level courses, an upper level course in
bioinformatics, biochemistry, molecular cell biology, and courses

UNF strategically supports an aim to operate as a preeminent, vibrantly inclusive employer in higher education. The successful candidate should demonstrate a capacity to work among diverse constituencies in the immediate university community and beyond. UNF faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence in all phases of instruction, research/scholarship/creative activity, and service.
A competitive salary and startup package commensurate with experience will be provided. Note: Applicants with research interests that are purely computational and do not employ a wet lab and/or model system that focuses on a human disease or health condition will not be competitive.
Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology, biology,
biochemistry or a related discipline. Note: applicants with a
graduate degree in an area outside of biology will not be
competitive for this position.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and
graduate-level courses within the biology department
curriculum.
• Strong commitment to mentoring and supervising undergraduate and
graduate research students;
• Excellence in laboratory-based research demonstrated by a strong
publication record in peer-reviewed journals;

program.
