Assistant General Counsel
Each attorney in the office has direct responsibility for specific substantive areas and units. While areas of responsibility sometimes change, responsibilities of the open position currently include real estate, wills, trusts, and estates, insurance and risk management, torts, and significant oversight and responsibility for contract review.
The successful applicant will have excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to plan and manage a variety of tasks; the ability to work effectively with diverse constituents in a large public institution; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and sound judgment.The successful applicant should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and be admitted or immediately eligible for admission to practice law in the State of Georgia. At least one or two years of legal experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience in areas of law applicable to post-secondary education.
Successful candidate should live in or be willing to promptly relocate to the Athens area.
