Instructor in Teacher Education Department
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for an instructor for the 2021-2022 school year with an anticipated start in August 2021. This position is in the Teacher Education Department. Duties include teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; contributing to the diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts of UNO; and providing departmental, university, and professional service. We seek a candidate with a strong professional record, previous teaching experience at the university level, and a commitment to teaching undergraduates of diverse backgrounds.
UNO is a vibrant, metropolitan university in the state’s largest city Omaha with an enrollment of approximately 15,000 students. In recent decades, the campus developed as a more traditional residential university supported by several new and beautifully appointed residence halls. UNO is classified as a doctoral research university in the latest Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and the Athletic program competes in NCAA division I. UNO also has the distinction of being one of the nation’s leaders in engagement and outreach with a 2015 Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation. The campus is located in the heart of Omaha, a cosmopolitan city of more than 600,000 (1.2 million including the large Omaha metro area), which is known for its excellent public school system and strong economic base.
