Part-time Faculty to be a section lead for FIN 659 Derivatives (3 credits). Online Course.

Course description: This intensive course covers the structure and operation of derivative markets (options, forward contracts, futures, swaps, and other derivatives); the valuation of derivatives; the use of derivatives in investment decisions; hedging of derivatives; and case analyses related to the applications of derivatives in the areas of risk management, portfolio insurance, and financial engineering.

MBA@Syracuse section leads will conduct a 90 minute synchronous or live section each week with 10-15 students at the same time each week for 10 weeks. Training and course access will begin in December 2020. Live classes begin January 2021, continue through March 2021 and are followed by a week of finals.

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred. Significant teaching and/or professional experience in the field.

Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities

View the asynchronous content in advance of each weekly live session.

Meet all designated class periods.

Conduct discussions topics for each week’s live session, based on the lead instructor’s direction from material covered asynchronously, potential questions that may have come from students, items in the news that may apply to course concepts, case and/or article discussions, how students are doing on assignments, and etc.

Grade any assignments and exams that the lead instructor has developed as part of the course for your section(s) based on instructions/rubrics provided in a timely manner.

Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.

Submit completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
