About Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Queens
Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Queens, a partnership of Bard College and the New York City Department of Education, invites applications for a full-time or part-time leave replacement position in the Chemistry department. BHSEC, a national model in the field of public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to move in four years from the ninth grade through the first two years of college, earning an associate of arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College as well as a high school diploma. The academic program emphasizes small class size and a commitment to teaching a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment. Qualifications
The successful applicant will teach one or more of the three sections of general chemistry, which is currently being taught on-line.

The compensation for teaching these classes is based on the NYC DOE salary scale for long-term substitutes.

The Chemistry program at BHSEC Queens provides a foundation for students who plan to major in science, engineering, and the health professions, as well as for those who are interested in exploring the molecular nature of the world around us as part of their general education.

Experience teaching younger students (high school age) and a commitment to scholarship are desirable.
