The Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago is an AACSB accredited institution. It presently has approximately 1,600 undergraduate and 500+ graduate students, 75 full-time faculty, and four endowed chairs. The ISSCM department consists of a group of internationally recognized scholars. Located less than a mile from Chicago’s Loop and two blocks from the Magnificent Mile, Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business sits in the heart of Chicago, a world-class destination for commerce and culture. Quinlan’s location provides close connections to Chicago’s business. The School supports an undergraduate business curriculum, an evening MBA program with both full-time and flex-time students, an EMBA and other executive education programs.

The Information Systems and Supply Chain Management ( ISSCM ) Department of Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business invites applications for a faculty appointment in Supply Chain Management beginning in the Fall term of 2021. The ideal candidate will enhance the department’s growing tradition for top quality research and teaching in operations and supply chain management with a particular emphasis on sustainability and/or supply chain analytics. This tenure-track position is open at the Assistant Professor level.

Academic programs at Quinlan are highly ranked, including a Master of Science in SCM that is ranked #13 by US News and World Report. As part of a Jesuit Catholic University, faculty at Quinlan are committed to preparing business leaders with the highest capacity and commitment to contribute to society. The Quinlan School of Business is housed in the John and Kathy Schreiber Center, a building completed in 2015 and designed to support the school’s work to prepare such leaders. Loyola University Chicago is also part of an international network of Jesuit Catholic educational institutions. As a result, faculty at Quinlan have the opportunity to teach courses in Rome, Vietnam, and other locations outside of Chicago.

Qualifications

Qualifications include a Ph.D. or DBA in a field such as Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Research. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to quality teaching (graduate and undergraduate), research, and service. Research streams which advance the University’s mission (www.luc.edu/mission/) will be favorably received by the committee. Candidates completing a Ph.D. by Fall 2021 are preferred but ABDs will be considered.

Supply Chain Management has been named a strategic focus area at Quinlan and ISSCM’s reputation in both academic and industry communities is growing. On the academic side, along with internationally recognized and award-winning faculty, Quinlan has served as host for major supply chain-related academic events. On the industry side, Quinlan houses a Supply Chain and Sustainability Center, opened in 2013 that currently has over 70 corporate members. This center hosts multiple industry-focused supply chain events, including an annual supply chain summit that regularly involves thought-leaders from academia, government, and industry. The center offers numerous opportunities for faculty to engage with industry in activities related to applied research and academic curriculum and program development. Ultimately, we seek applicants looking to participate in academic and industry-focused supply chain related activities.
