The Massey Cancer Center at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a post-doctoral fellow position in cancer prevention and control. The position will be in the Fuemmeler lab within the department of Health Behavior and Policy. The position is for one year with the potential for two additional years supported from an NIH T32 training program in cancer prevention and control.

The incumbent will work with Dr. Bernard Fuemmeler, associate director of population science and program leader (acting) for cancer prevention and control. The Fuemmeler lab conducts research in the broad area of cancer prevention and population science. Ongoing research in the lab involves work examining characteristics of the built and retail environment on health outcomes, digital and mobile health research, and social media and cancer communication. Individuals with strong quantitative and data analysis skills in advanced statistical analysis (geospatial analysis, structural equation modeling, latent growth modeling) are encouraged to apply. The person joining the lab will have opportunities to publish in these areas as well as have support to develop a career development award.

Required Qualifications

Candidate should have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree and a commitment to a career as a cancer prevention and control researcher.
