The Opportunity: 

The Department of Computer Science at Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is looking to hire multiple Teaching Professors that have a clear passion for conveying knowledge to novice software professionals.  We are looking for superb teachers who inspire students and will advance the University’s commitment to diversity.  Each successful candidate must be able to teach a variety of computer science core and elective courses, including, but not limited to, courses such as: Introduction to Computer Science, Data Structures, and Software Engineering. Candidates should also plan to support departmental recruiting efforts, coordinate multi-section courses (including supervision and training of teaching assistants), and participate in curriculum innovations and improvements.

Minimum Qualification: 

  • Possess a Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Science Education, or another closely related field.
  • Teaching Associate/Full Professor: Demonstrated record of teaching excellence and evidence of educational service.
  • Teaching Full Professor: Demonstrated record of leadership and application of educational research.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience leading and teaching multi-section courses.
  • Experience teaching low-level CS courses (e.g., CS0 and CS1).
