JOB DESCRIPTION

The School of Business at the University of Indianapolis seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track Professor of Professional Practice in the field of Supply Chain Management. This is a full-time, nine month faculty position with a start date of August 2021.

Teaching requirements will consist primarily of Principles of Supply Chain Management and field courses in Procurement Management and Quality Management at the undergraduate and MBA levels. The normal teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year. Successful candidates should have significant experience in the field with teaching experience not required but strongly preferred. Service to the school, University and community are also requirements for the position.

The ideal candidate would have PhD in operations or supply chain management or a PhD in industrial engineering or a DBA. Qualified candidates with a master’s degree is the minimum academic qualification for this position. Significant work in supply chain management, purchasing, supply management, production or operations management is required. Prior experience in applied consulting or work experience in the field is desirable; quality teaching is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach 24 semester hours per academic year
  • Provide service to the school, University and community


QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in operations or supply chain management, PhD in industrial engineering, or a DBA is preferred
  • Master's degree required
  • Significant work in supply chain management, purchasing, supply management, production or operations management is required
  • Prior experience in applied consulting or work experience in the field is desirable
  • Quality teaching experience is essential
