About the Position:
The Division of Information Technology strives to be a strategic, innovative and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Director of Application Development and Support (Administrator II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Director of Application Development and Support, under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of IT/Innovation Officer, develops strategy for and implementing systems design, software development, and systems integration to support numerous existing and future applications and projects. Provides oversight to technical teams and IT resources for application development and delivery success. Provide input to the development and facilitation of the campus internet content strategy, Internet requirements. Manage the development efforts of existing and new services, and assures that services comply with information security and accessible technology initiative (ATI) requirements. Manages campus internet content strategy; campus home page, web servers, web content within the pages and web governance group. Oversees human, technical, and financial resources and works collaboratively with colleagues in IT and across campus as required for the successful design and delivery of system infrastructure and application development. Makes collaborative decisions on administrative and operational matters and ensures effective achievement of goals and objectives within department. Creates a collaborative working environment and assists with the implementation of team building. Creates and maintains working relationships with campus constituents in and outside of the Division of IT. Participates in problem solving, planning and decision making with the department. Works with other CSU campuses regarding development and implementation of system-wide applications. Other duties assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, MIS or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. Three to five years of expertise working within the applications and development field. Must have proven understanding of internet security, database design, and directed application efforts through the full life cycle of development. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills and ability in managing projects simultaneously.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited four-year college or university and/or equivalent training and applied experience. Must have experience with managing ATI requirements with systems. Integration specific to information security such as Duo, Shibboleth, and Peoplesoft.


Special Working Conditions:
Occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours.
