Description

The Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences at Boston College invites applications for a senior scholar to serve as the Sullivan Chair in Irish Studies at our Chestnut Hill, MA campus.  The search is open to scholars from the humanities and social sciences. A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in an appropriate field is required.  Applicants should present a distinguished record of publication and extensive teaching experience in areas related to the study of Ireland and/or the transnational Irish diaspora. Applicants should also demonstrate an ability to collaborate with faculty in a dynamic interdisciplinary program and a willingness to help lead that program with vision and imagination.  The appointment will be a tenured position at the rank of full Professor, with a preferred start in summer 2021.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in an appropriate field is required.  Applicants should present a distinguished record of publication and extensive teaching experience in areas related to the study of Ireland and/or the transnational Irish diaspora. Applicants should also demonstrate an ability to collaborate with faculty in a dynamic interdisciplinary program and a willingness to help lead that program with vision and imagination.
