Bus Driver Part-time

Job Description

The Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for students and other university personnel to athletic and other university events requiring transportation by bus. Trip frequency is on an as-needed basis related to activity schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
•Provide safe, reliable transport of students and university staff to specified events.
•Conduct pre-trip inspections, observe safety regulations and policies
•Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
•Deliver on-time transportation
•Follow all laws and regulations for transportation.

Required Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED
•5 years’ experience driving commercial passenger vehicles
•Current Missouri Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and air brake qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience driving a passenger bus and transporting students.

Physical Demands

•Sedentary Work
•Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
•Knowledge of standard maintenance requirements for commercial passenger vehicles.
•Ability to maintain confidential information with tact and discretion
•Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with students and University personnel
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, administration and the general public
•Demonstrated ability to safely drive a commercial passenger bus

•Minimum age is 21.
•Will be required to pass background check, motor vehicle record check and DOT Physical.
•Must have Insurable driving record

Hours of Work

•Flexible schedule to include day trips, nights and weekends
•Travel distance normally 2 to 6 hours with occasional longer trips.
•Overnight stay is required with some trips with 16 hours per day guaranteed on overnight assignments.

Some nights, weekends and holidays required. OT as required.
