About the Opportunity:
The Center for Research Innovation (CRI) is an impact driven initiative that serves as the University-wide portal between Northeastern's use-inspired research portfolio and industry. The atmosphere of the CRI is agile and responsive comprised of entrepreneurially minded staff focused on translating Northeastern innovations into tangible solutions through patenting, licensing, spin-outs, and collaboration. CRI is seeking to create programs that inspire researchers to commercialize their work and change the culture around the success of research entrepreneurship both inside and outside the university.

The CRI seeks a versatile Marketing Communications Manager capable of contributing to the success of CRI objectives in the following areas:

  • Assessing, creating and executing a marketing strategy for the CRI
  • Planning and coordinating fulfillment of developed strategy
  • Promoting and managing the CRI brand
  • Marketing CRI programs and events
  • Creating web-based, interest-generating content
  • Crafting internal/external communications
  • Executing communications strategy
  • Special projects as assigned

    A passion for interacting and communicating with people is key to this role. The successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated, goal oriented, creative, analytical, process driven, and collaboratively minded.

    The Marketing Communications Manager must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree. Three to five years of professional experience in marketing and communication, writing, and higher education is preferred . The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability to create motivational and inspirational programs. The individual in this position must be able to work in a fast paced environment and have outstanding communication, organizational, and relationship building skills. This person must have the ability to work independently, as well as with teams of colleagues, and possess the aptitude for detail-oriented tasks. The Marketing Communications Manager must have strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and balance responsibilities. The individual in this position must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights, weekends, and light travel.
