The Department of Management is seeking an Assistant Professor of Management.

Proposed hire date is September 1, 2021. Hiring is contingent upon current budget environment.

The Department of Management is seeking enthusiastic applicants for an Assistant Professor of Management position beginning Fall 2021. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Management including but not limited to Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Family and Small Business, Leadership, International Business, Project Management, and Operations Management. Individual may be afforded the opportunity to develop courses in their area(s) of interest. This individual will assist Management faculty with program development, assessment, and expansion of course offerings.

Finalists being interviewed for the position may be expected to make a presentation to faculty and students. Summer teaching is typically available but is contingent upon University funding. Salary commensurate with experience. Faculty are expected to teach on the main campus in Stephenville, online, and possibly off-campus locations in Fort Worth, Waco, and Midlothian. Responsibilities:

80% Teaching/Service: Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools. Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect the current levels of knowledge in the discipline. Faculty members are normally assigned teaching schedules of 12 semester hours of undergraduate or 9 semester hours of graduate courses in Fall and Spring terms.

Maintain an appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry. Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorships, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.

20% Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity: Demonstrate a record of career long evidence of significant scholarly contributions to the profession.

Required Education and Experience:

A doctorate in Business with a focus in Management or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution, completed prior to September 1, 2021. ABD’s near completion considered on a probationary basis.  Must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and intellectual contributions to the discipline supporting the College of Business’ strategic initiatives.   

Preferred Qualifications

A doctorate in Business with a focus in Management or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. Teaching, professional, or research experience in the areas of strategy, leadership, small business, entrepreneurship, or international business is preferred.

Males, age 18 through 25, must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for hire. This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
