Job Summary/Description

The Department of Agriculture at Angelo State University invites applications for a tenure track position in Animal Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a 9-month position, with the option to teach summer courses, which is expected to start in August 2021.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

Teach 24-contact hours per academic year of undergraduate and graduate classes in the area of Animal Science. Courses can include reproduction, genetics, nutrition, animal physiology, and/or other general animal science classes that best fit the candidate’s field and expertise. The successful candidate will also conduct research in his or her area of expertise that leads to advising graduate students working at the Master’s level in the department

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Animal Science or a closely related field from an accredited university with preferred emphasis in reproduction, genetics, or animal physiology. Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong organizational skills. Collegiality and the ability to work well with other faculty, staff, and students in the department are also expected.

Preferred Qualifications   Physical Requirements

Normal interaction with livestock, outdoor activities, minimal physical labor requirements.
