The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Accounting with a Fall 2021 start date. The Accounting Department has experienced significant enrollment growth, offering its undergraduate major to over 180 students on its Vermillion and Sioux Falls campuses, making it the School’s largest major. At the graduate level, over 100 students take classes on its main campus or through its online Master of Professional Accountancy programs. The online program, now in its fifth year, is nationally ranked due to its affordability and high CPA exam pass rate. Through the efforts of the School’s Career Success Center, the program has a high placement rate (over 93%) of its graduates, and consistently places over 40 students each year in internships with Big Four, national, regional public accounting firms and industry. The eight member department is actively engaged with the profession and works closely with its Advisory Council. Faculty are recognized as outstanding teachers and researchers.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on the main campus in Vermillion, SD, online, and in Sioux Falls, SD. Contribution to the scholarship of accounting is also required.
