Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Dermatology, is seeking research faculty to lead in the discovery of new knowledge, expertly care for patients, and embrace learning and personal growth. Principal Duties:

The incumbent will be responsible for developing/maintaining a nationally recognized research program; collaborate with investigators in the department and at UW-Madison in relevant research areas; present research at national and international meetings, and publish results in leading biomedical journals appropriate to areas of application; teach relevant courses at undergraduate/graduate levels, and participate in the training and mentoring of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

The incumbent will need to develop his or her own independent research program and will be required to attract and maintain external funding.

Clinical duties, if any, would depend on the candidate's area of expertise and interests.

The incumbent will also participate in professional, university and community service appropriate to the faculty rank.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD, MD/PhD or PhD (Board Certified in Dermatology if MD). The successful applicant will have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research, in the field of Cutaneous Biology, Skin Diseases, Genetics and Immunology, Skin Microbiome, Health Outcomes or related fields. Current research interests of the Department of Dermatology include (but not limited to): skin biology, immunology, epidermal differentiation, skin regenerative biology, cell signaling and signal transduction, skin cancers (both non -melanoma and melanoma), mouse models of skin cancer; cutaneous T cell lymphoma, and clinical research.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Years of experience will be commensurate with rank sought. Postdoctoral research experience as evidenced by authoritative publications in the field is required. All candidates must have proven success in conducting research appropriate to their stage of career. Associate/full Professor candidates must possess experience and scholarly credentials for appointment with tenure at UW-Madison.
