NON-CREDIT/NON-TEACHING ASSIGNMENT, Senior Academic Assistant - Math Assistance

To provide academic assistance to students in mathematics in the Math Assistance Area of the College of DuPage and serve as a consultant to other academic assistants on pedagogical and content questions.

Hours: Up to 24 hours per week during academic terms only (approximately 40 weeks per year). Some evening or weekend hours may be required. Some hours may be at off-campus locations.

• Providing academic assistance to students in all levels of mathematics through Calculus, Physics, or other STEM courses.
• Serve as a resource for other academic assistants.
• Consult with college mathematics faculty and assist the MAA supervisor with program planning.
• Research instructional resource and practices.

REQUIRED:

EDUCATION: Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics, physics, or other STEM discipline.

EXPERIENCE: Teaching experience in relevant mathematics, physics, or other STEM subjects at the high school or college level. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including a proficiency in spoken English.

EDUCATION: N/A

EXPERIENCE: Experience as tutor/academic assistant at the high school or college level.

Up-to-date skills in relevant technology.
