Carroll University is seeking a diligent and innovative visiting full-time faculty member to join our team for the Spring 2021 semester. This individual will play an integral role in teaching the public health curriculum and will work collaboratively with public health and departmental faculty. Candidates who are innovative and value a dynamic and comprehensive approach to curriculum and instruction are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, one-semester position.

Qualifications: Carroll University (www.carrollu.edu) invites applications for the position of Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor of Public Health. Candidates should have:
  • Ph.D. in Public Health or related field preferred, MS or ABD considered
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Previous teaching experience (preferred but not required)

    Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this one-semester appointment in the Public Health Program include teaching, and advising the public health student organization. Primary teaching expertise in public health policy and bio-statistics is desired.

    Rank and Salary: This is a visiting faculty position. Salary is commensurate with experience.

    The Program: The Public Health Program is housed in the Department of Health and Medicine in the College of Health Sciences. The program currently supports over 70 students and collaborates with multiple graduate and undergraduate health science programs.

    The Department: The Department of Health and Medicine includes the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and the Master of Occupational Therapy graduate programs, as well as the following undergraduate programs: Health Sciences—Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Sciences—Radiologic Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, and minors in Health Education and Health and the Human Experience. The Department also includes inter-professional initiatives with Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Human Movement Sciences departments.

    The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through four departments—Health and Medicine, Human Movement Sciences (athletic training, exercise science, exercise physiology); Nursing; and Physical Therapy (DPT). Health sciences account for ~60% of the University enrollment. The mission of the College of Health Science is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. A dynamic and growing entity, College wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these as well as program specific initiatives.

    The University: Founded in 1846, Carroll University is an independent, co-educational comprehensive University.
