Physical Therapy Program Coordinator

Classification: Administrative Staff- Full Time - 1560 Hours- 9 Months

Reports to:Director of PT and Directors of Clinical Education

Description: The Physical Therapy program coordinator will assist with Program and Clinical Education administration. The position works closely with and provides support to the Program Director and Directors of Clinical Education. The Program Coordinator will also serve as the program's admission liaison with limited teaching responsibilities within the department.

Responsibilities:
Clinical Education
  • Prepare and manage year-to-year clinical placement requests
  • Maintain up-to-date site and contact information for all affiliated sites
  • Onboard students prior to clinical placements
  • Oversee Physical Therapy Program medical requirements and background checks
  • Review student assessments and weekly notes; complete mid-term check-ins
  • Prepare post-clinical assessments based on PTSE 1, PTSE 2, and CI survey
  • Other miscellaneous tasks related to management of clinical education
  • Other duties as needed to assist the Directors of Clinical Education (DCE)

    Administrative Supports and Admission Liaison
  • Partner with the Department of Admissions for program promotion including monthly webinars, graduate open houses, program open houses
  • Review application and dissemination
  • Review candidate applications
  • Attend and partner for student information sessions
  • Meet with prospective students
  • Assist with course scheduling, adjunct scheduling and adjunct orientation
  • Provide program accreditation support

    Teaching Responsibilities (up to 10 credits per year)
  • Facilitate PTH 408: Introduction to Patient Management
  • Teach other courses or labs up to 10 hours a week based on expertise
  • Assist with didactic or skill assessment within Physical Therapy courses/lab
    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Current physical therapy or eligibility for licensure in the state of Wisconsin
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience as a physical therapist
  • Experience as a clinical instructor preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple individuals and offices
  • Superior communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative and innovate.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with EXXAT database preferred
  • Adaption to new software technology
