Plumber

Classification: Support Staff- Full Time- 12 Month- 2080 Hours
Report To:Manager of Mechanical Services
Description: Under general supervision installs, maintains, and repairs water piping systems and all plumbing fixtures and accessories following recognized procedures and techniques of the trade of plumber.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain piping systems and plumbing
fixtures
- Inspect all connections and other parts of system for
leaks
- Replace defective pipe by cutting, bending, threading and
assembling pipe
- Solder and caulk leaks and broken pipes
- Open clogged drains
- Repair or replace damaged fixtures such as sinks, toilets,
showers, and bathtubs
- As required, may estimate materials needed and record time and
material expended on each work order
- Occasionally assist other maintenance personnel in performance
of their duties as assigned
- Transport materials, tools and equipment to the work
site
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: - High school graduate (diploma/GED) required
- State of Wisconsin Master Plumbers License required
- Minimum of five years' experience as a Master
Plumber
- Skilled in the use of mathematics and the ability to read blue
prints
Other Requirements: - Must have valid Wisconsin motor vehicle license and be
insurable under the university's insurance plan.
- Low Pressure Boiler License or willingness to obtain
one
- Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the
University mission.
