Assistant Professor of Human Resources
McKendree University seeks applications for a full-time,
tenure-track Assistant Professor of Human Resources to begin August
The McKendree University School of Business offers a B.B.A. degree with a significant general education component and several majors, including a major in human resources. The School of Business also offers an M.B.A. The successful candidate will participate in both programs.
Responsibilities: Teach on-campus and online courses in human resources and related subjects such as talent management, learning and development, employment law, strategic human resources, and compensation; advise undergraduate students in the human resources major and other business degree programs; work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary faculty. The teaching load is 4/4 (12 hours in fall and 12 hours in spring semesters). Must be willing to accommodate a variety of learning styles and strategies in instructional delivery and learning activities, including online and hybrid delivery. The position requires use of a learning management system (Brightspace) and excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Requirements: an earned doctoral degree in human resources or a terminal degree in a related field. If the terminal degree is in a related field, then a master’s degree with an emphasis in human resources management and experience in human resources management with PHR or SPHR certification is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have college-level teaching and/or training and development experience.
