Westminster College in Salt Lake City seeks a full-time, permanent Assistant or Associate Professor in the CACREP-accredited Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling Program (MSMHC) starting Fall 2021.  The program uses a full-time, residential, and cohort-based model and is committed to fostering a strong interpersonal learning environment. Our ideal candidate will display commitments to engaged teaching and learning as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, they will have clinical and supervisory experience across multiple levels-of care. 

 

Major responsibilities include: (1) instruction of master’s level courses in a face-to-face format; (2) curriculum and program development; (3) supervision of counseling students and interns; (4) student advisement and recruitment; (5) cooperative work with agencies, schools, and the larger regional community and (6) service at the department and college levels.  The candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach classes in their area of expertise as well as core classes such as Internship, Individual Counseling, Counseling Research, Multicultural Counseling, and Career Counseling. Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in the area of Counselor Education and Supervision by August 2021. Additionally, candidates must be license-eligible to practice and supervise in Utah, have supervisory experience in diverse clinical settings, display a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and clinical practice, and successful face-to-face teaching experience at the graduate level. Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred qualifications for this position include multiple years of 1) successful full-time teaching experience at the graduate level and 2) clinical experience.

In the cover letter, applicants should describe their graduate teaching experience, experience supervising graduate students in multiple clinical settings, clinical experience in mental health counseling, and preparation to teach and mentor students from groups that are historically underrepresented in higher education.
