Assistant Professor of Information Management and Business Analytics

Tenure Track

 

The School of Management (SOM) at Clark University, AACSB-accredited since 1986, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Information Management and Business Analytics position to begin fall 2021.

 

The SOM offers an undergraduate management major, as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Information Management and Business Analytics concentrations, Master's in Business Analytics (MSBA), Master's in Finance (MSF), Master's in Accounting (MSA), Master's in Accounting Analytics (MSAA), Master's in Marketing (MSMK), Master's in Marketing Analytics (MSMKA), and Master and Master of Science in Management (MSM) degrees. In addition to offering programs on the main campus in Worcester, Massachusetts, SOM offers some courses online.

 

Clark University is a private, co-educational research-intensive university with approximately 2,200 undergraduate and 1,100 graduate students.  Since its founding in 1887 as the first all-graduate school in the United States, Clark has been a recognized leader in innovative research and interdisciplinary academic programs.  SOM is a dedicated community of teacher-scholars that values disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and teaching that is of high quality and relevant to practice.

Requirements:

To be considered, applicants should have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or Business Analytics or a related field of study (e.g., data science, computer science, statistics, information science) by August 2021 from an AACSB-International or similarly accredited institution. The ideal candidate will have research and teaching preparation in business analytics, with knowledge intersecting advanced analytics, computation, and business applications. Research and teaching background in one or more of machine learning, business intelligence, information visualization, artificial intelligence, big data computing, accounting analytics, and/or digital marketing analytics are preferred. It is imperative that candidates demonstrate enthusiasm for and evidence of potential for teaching excellence in business analytics and information management at the Master's level. Moreover, candidates need to provide evidence of potential for scholarly research excellence, with the expectation of publishing in top-tier journals. Although not required, prior industry experience and experience working with diverse populations are desirable qualifications.
